As parents we want to keep our homes not only comfortable and fun, but safe for out little ones. Babies and toddlers can create messes that would put fear into the heart of many high school janitors but before you reach for popular floor and surface brands, consider that whatever you spray into the air or in your home, ends up in your child’s body.
Back in the day, we celebrated Halloween the eco-friendly way before we knew what eco-friendly meant. Costumes weren’t bought in a bag, they were made. Halloween treats were usually homemade and gobbled up as soon as they were dropped into our Halloween sacks (aka pillowcases). The 4th of July is coming up FAST! Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays. Growing up, there was always a party to attend. As day turned to night and the fireworks went off illuminating the dark sky I always felt so proud to be an American.

On Tuesday, May 24, 2011, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes ravaged Oklahoma. My little family of four was tucked away in a closet and listened to the radio for weather updates as the rain and wind pounded our home. We were blessed and fortunate enough to miss the tornadoes. Shortly after the storm had passed, my husband and I tucked our two little boys (9-months and 2-years old) in bed, said bedtime prayers and watched our little ones fall asleep. We were all safe and sound.
