20 Spooktacular Tips For a Green Halloween

Back in the day, we celebrated Halloween the eco-friendly way before we knew what eco-friendly meant. Costumes weren’t bought in a bag, they were made. Halloween treats were usually homemade and gobbled up as soon as they were dropped into our Halloween sacks (aka pillowcases). Sleep. Or lack thereof.

I remember when I was in college and getting up at 8AM felt just wrong. Last night my almost 2-year old woke up at 10PM, 2AM and then finally at 5AM. She wasn’t hungry. Her diaper was fine. I don’t think she’s teething. Yet she woke up screaming and desperate to leave her crib.

Photo Contest: Celebrating Imperfect Parenting!

In the world of baby caring where sleep is limited and tempers (both the toddler in your home and yours) run high, who needs the stress of trying to be a Perfect Mom?

We fought all the time and added more than a few grey hairs to our parent’s hairlines. However, now in our 30s, we have become great friends.

The Squeaky Wheel Gets The Grease… So Squeak, Baby! by Jill Krause

The last few months with Leyna, our 2nd baby, have been nothing- AT ALL- like the first few months of Kendall’s, our 1st’s, life. For one, she sleeps; I’m talking through the night (6-8 hour stretches). At this point with Kendall, we were thrilled just to get a solid 4-hour block of sleep. Leyna’s been sleeping through the night for over a month now.
