Recovering From a C-Section With a Toddler

12 March 2010 No Comment

LilSugar, one of my favorite online resources for fun baby news, just published a great article about how to recover from a c-section while parenting an older baby. A few of the editors over at LilSugar recently became parents themselves and the founder of Sugar Inc. just had her second child about six months ago so the content has been very real.

Recovering from the birth of your first child is a completely different story than recovering from the birth of your 2nd, 3rd or 4th child. I remember that with my first baby I was surrounded by help and could pretty much always count on the doting arms of a relative for the first few weeks.

After the birth of my second child I had much less time to focus on recuperating as my 3 year-old had needs of her own and that was without a c-section. I can only imagine what it’s like to recover from major surgery with an older baby or toddler at your feet.
